Letters : Venice, to Gaetano Cattaneo, 1822-1832.

Letters to friend and colleague Gaetano Cattaneo, curator of the Gabinetto Numismatico at the Accademia di Brera. Collection consists primarily of letters of introduction and recommendation for promising young students in the areas of sculpture, engraving, and music. Also discussed are the commission of a marble statue of Antonio Canova on behalf of a Venetian nobleman and the exhibition of a painting by Borsato which depicts the inundation of the Piazza San Marco.
